How I came to know about this book:

I attended an online promotional event hosted by the authors and ended up winning the e-book there.

What the book is about :

"Love Connection: Let's Rise in Love" is an anthology that brings together the works of seven different writers, each exploring a shade of the VIBGYOR light spectrum, representing different aspects of love. The anthology offers a variety of stories, each with its unique take on love, yet many follow familiar tropes.

What I have loved about the book :

For Violet, Sritapa Mahanty presents a simple and heartwarming story of two friends who become lovers and eventually a happily married couple. Their journey through challenges like family acceptance and long-distance relationships showcases the strength of their bond.

Indigo is portrayed by Eshita Singh, who offers a modern-day tale of lovers separated and then reunited by the enduring power of love.

In Blue, author Jyoti Gidwani weaves a nostalgic story titled Silver String Connections, where childhood sweethearts rediscover their love as they grow up, highlighting the beauty of rekindled affection.

Green is represented by Mridusmita Das, who pens a unique story of a girl falling in love with a terrorist in the lush greenery of Assam, and her efforts to bring him back to a normal life.

Orange takes a thrilling turn with Siddharth Sen's story, resonating with the idea that true love is eternal and fights through death.

Yellow, written by Susan John, tells the tale of how the wrongdoings of parents impact the love life of the protagonist, yet love ultimately triumphs over these challenges.

Finally, in Red, Vidyarani Hanjabam writes a poignant story of lovers separated by social conflicts, who are eventually reunited through the enduring power of love.

What I felt could have been better :

While the anthology presents a creative idea by exploring the spectrum of love through VIBGYOR, many of the stories rely on overused tropes, which may feel very predictable to some readers. The emotional aspect of the love among the couple was found missing in some of the stories.

Why one should read or not read this book:

The book provides a varied yet familiar exploration of love, with each story contributing its own shade to the colourful spectrum of emotions. While some narratives may feel predictable, the anthology succeeds in showcasing love's resilience and versatility across different contexts. It’s a decent read for those looking for comforting tales of love with a dash of diversity in storytelling.

The book is available only in the e-book version at Amazon: https://amzn.in/d/3j71PpI

The book tries to portray love through shades of colour. What is your favourite colour in VIBGYOR? Leave a Comment below.
