How I came to know about this book:

I was a member of The Creative Circle's WhatsApp group when I came across this anthology. The intriguing author lineup and the compelling theme immediately caught my attention, so I decided to give it a read.

What the book is about :

Curated by The Creative Circle, Vanishing Eden: Chronicles of Human Resilient is a powerful anthology that places environmental changes and hazards at its core. Through ten stories by ten different authors, the book paints a vivid picture of the intricate and evolving relationship between humans and nature, with the environment itself taking center stage as the main character.

What I have loved about the book :

Each story offers a unique perspective, showcasing diverse approaches to storytelling. "Natural Selection" by K. Jonnalgadda stands out for its sharp critique of journalism, while "Miracle" by N. Sekhar Mitra captures the poignant bond between a grandfather and his family amid a cyclone. The vivid descriptions of a bike ride in "Reaper's Pass" by L.A. Nolan, the fusion of mythology in "A Parade of Elephants" by A. Nandi, and the sci-fi elements in "A Nexus of Connectivity" by P.B. Flower further enrich the collection, making it a well-rounded and engaging read.

What I felt could have been better :

While most of the stories resonate deeply, a few feel slightly simplified and verge on being preachy. However, this minor flaw does little to overshadow the anthology’s overall appeal.

Why one should read or not read this book:

Readers will appreciate the variety of themes and storytelling techniques, making this a superb collection that connects on both intellectual and emotional levels. For anyone passionate about the environment or intrigued by the interplay between humanity and nature, Vanishing Eden is a must-read.
